Mineral depletion is much more prevalent than vitamin deficiency in the US. I started increasing use for my patients when I discovered how great they were for exercise recovery. My kids were wrestlers and I saw how depleted they became after workouts and matches. Instead of having them drink sugar-filled electrolyte drinks or overpriced electrolyte supplements, I started using multimineral formulas to balance them out after a hard workout. The results were nothing short of amazing. Quick recoveries and better performance were the norm and I have not stopped using them.
If you work out, they will help you recover too. If you don’t consume enough whole foods and vegetables you are likely depleted and you will not perform to your potential. If you have low levels of stomach acid, you aren’t likely absorbing minerals either because minerals are absorbed in an acidic environment in the stomach.
These minerals are attached (or chelated) to compounds that help them get into the bloodstream. I’m not a fan of tablets unless they readily break down in water. But these tablets dissolve quickly in water, so rest assured that minerals are being absorbed.
